Breast Cancer Statistics
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers.
*The chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is about 1 in 8 (12%).
*It is estimated that in 2008 about 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among women in the United States.
*A woman’s chance of getting breast cancer increases with age. Your chance by your current age is:
age 20 1 in 1,985
age 30 1 in 229
age 40 1 in 68
age 50 1 in 37
age 60 1 in 26
age 70 1 in 24
ever 1 in 8

Just for the heck of it, m'lady, I decided to check your blog for any possible new postings. (You know, with us old people, old habits die hard.) I was pleased to see old habits also die hard with you and that you had indeed posted a new entry.
I watched the video of you speaking at the Relay for Life with such pride and, you know me, lots of tears. I know so many people who have been touched by this monster of a disease and you stand as a remarkable role model for them and others who may one day have to fight this battle.
Your words touched my heart and soul. I soooo glad you are standing tall and doing well.
